SWRDA’s Just Around The Corner

Dear SWRDA Members,

I trust this email finds you well. As we approach the SWRDA 2024 conference, I want to ensure that you have all the necessary information to access the conference documents conveniently.  All the documents are now uploaded to the dashboard.

  1. Registration: As a reminder, you must be registered for the conference to access the dashboard. Once you are registered you will need to use the same email address as your User Id. Our system will automatically generate your login user ID based on this email.
  2. Password Reset/Lost Password: Go to the conference website at www.SWRDA.org and click on the login tab. Select “Password Reset/Lost Password.” Remember that your user ID is your registered email address.
  3. Double Authentication Link: You will need to check your email, looking for an email from WordPress (please also check your spam folder). This email will contain a customized link to guide you through setting up your access. Follow the prompts provided in the email to complete the setup.
  4. Troubleshooting: If you experience difficulties, consider switching to a different web browser. If the challenges persist, please don’t hesitate to contact us at swrda.chair@gmail.com. We are here to assist you.

Lastly, rest assured that paper packets will also be available at the conference for those that prefer paper packets.

Members: Accessing the Dashboard

Greetings SWRDA Members,

I trust you had an amazing holiday with family and friends!

We are a few months out from SWRDA 2024! And the committee is finalizing the agenda and creating conference documents. We will be uploading documents to the repository located on the website under the Log-In tab over the next few weeks.

The following are steps you can follow to set up your double authentication access to the document repository.

  1. Once you register for SWRDA 2024 the system will enter your email you used to register as the login user id (you must register for SWRDA 2024 for the system to generate your id) and access the document repository.
  2.  Once you are registered, go back to the website and click on the login tab and click Password Reset / Lost Password. Your user Id is the email you used to register for the conference.
  3. The system will prompt you to go back to your email and look for an email from WORDPRESS (our website platform) that includes a personalized link to set up your access. Remember to check junk folder if not in your inbox. You must follow the prompts as provided.
  4. As a reminder, ALL documents have NOT been added at this time. You will only see the flyer. The packet will be uploaded by Mar 1st.

SWRDA Member Dashboard Update

Dear SWRDA Members,

Greetings! I hope this message finds you in good spirits. I am excited that you found the website! Please take some time to peruse the site.

At the last business meeting, we approved changes to address our Access Database going away. Therefore, the officers formed an Ad Hoc committee consisting of the officers and a few SWRDA members with expertise in building secure, user-friendly, sustainable, and accessible systems.

We aim to create a dashboard for members to retrieve conference documents electronically. To construct this feature, we must establish a data management system that ideally integrates with online registration. The Ad Hoc team will deploy the system in stages.

Expanding the website is the first phase as we prepare for the dashboard. Integrating the data from the online registration will be the second phase. Registered attendees opting for a digital packet can retrieve conference documents electronically through the website. Please note these documents will be ready a week before the conference. We will send an email to those opting in with more information. Please be sure to secure your password. Paper packets will still be available.

I want to thank the Ad Hoc team for assisting in updating and modernizing our secure online registration process and integrating the data system. Their expertise and talents have been invaluable throughout this much-needed upgrade. We are fortunate to have smart people among us! 😜

To accommodate these changes, we switched website hosting accounts from Hostec to HawkHost, which will allow maintenance to occur by a SWRDA member, as recommended by our experts. The website is live and is now taking online registration. The PDF registration form is also available for members who prefer to print and mail in their registration form and check.

I will add an agenda item to our next business meeting for your consideration, and that is to add an IT Liaison to the officers’ group. An IT liaison will help secure and maintain our system and make necessary changes throughout the year, similar to the hotel liaison position. Please email me if you have any questions.
